VetCheck is always looking to grow its team of VetCheck 24/7 Vets that are available to take appointments at flexible times that suit them. You choose the times you are available through our Medechat telemedicine platform, so the amount you earn is entirely up to you.
You may already work at a vet clinic and would like to supplement your income, or maybe you are taking a break or are a parent and would like to maintain your skills while working flexibly from home. You may be retired but wanting to continue your veterinary career outside of general practice.
VetCheck 24/7 provides an after hours (or anytime) service to vet practices across Australia and New Zealand. Your pet patients will come to you directly through a referring vet practice via our team of Vet Nurses who take the calls and triage the needs of the pet.
Your qualifications, experience and compassion as a veterinarian are essential in this role. You will be consulting directly with clients whose pets require immediate veterinary advice but not emergency treatment. You will need to have the ability to examine and triage pets to diagnose their short and long term health issues and recommend best practice treatment. You will need to complete an appointment summary which will be referred back to the practice for ongoing care of the pet.
As we provide a 24 hour service, we are interested in hearing from vets in Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA and Canada.
Vetcheck 24/7 really helps us sleep better at night. We used to get a lot of calls to our emergency mobile at all hours of the night or weekend with people just wanting general advice about non urgent issues. Since taking on our after hours calls, Vetcheck 24/7 has filtered all of these things out by taking all the calls and providing that advice. The customers are happy because they get their answers and our vet can focus on the things she needs to. We now know if the emergency phone rings it is a genuine emergency.
